Setting the Table versus Sitting at the Table

This four-part course is for worship leaders and creatives who are skilled at building spaces for others to encounter God but often neglect their own encounter with Him. Drawing on the story of Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38–42), the course explores the difference between serving (setting the table) and resting in God’s presence (sitting at the table) and makes the case that lasting ministry requires both.

Key Takeaways:

  • Serving is important, but sitting is necessary. Excellence in your craft matters, but it can never replace personal time with God.
  • Resentment is a warning light, not a flaw. Feeling unappreciated or overworked usually means you’re serving from empty rather than full.
  • Lead from identity, not performance. You are a son or daughter before you are a servant or leader.
