SALT19 Community Groups

Ministry was never meant to be done alone.

For those who have never been to a SALT Conference before, you may have some questions about what the Community Groups at SALT include. For those who have been to SALT, know that Community Groups are the single best part of SALT.

Once you get to SALT, we’ll help you find and interact with other people who do what you do around the country, so you can have a network of people who are cheering you on. It’s time for the Church to be the Church for the Church, and Community Groups at SALT is how we do just that.

“So thankful and blessed with my community group relationships that I have formed and best of all…I heard God’s voice speak to me for the first time at SALT Conference! Amazing conference!”

Am I required to attend Community Groups?

Nothing at SALT19 is “required” except registration and community groups is no exception.  However, we think you’ll want to consider sticking around for Community Groups for this reason: every year, we hear an overwhelming number of stories of how attendee’s were hesitant about their group at first, but turned into relationships that have lasted for years!

In addition, we serve lunch during our community group time, so if you choose to not participate in community group, you will need to find lunch on your own.

Who can I expect to sit in the Community Group with me?

When you register for SALT19 Conference, you’ll be asked what the primary area of focus you have in your Church. The answer to this question will help us identify the color of wristband you will receive. When it’s time for Community Groups, you’ll easily find the group (or people) you want to have at your table.

Ex. If you serve in communications and you want a Community Group of other communications-minded people, just look for the same color wristband as yourself!

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Genesis 1:26 (NIV)

Why are Community Groups so important to SALT19?

One word….RELATIONSHIP!

If you turn to the very first chapter in Genesis, and read the creation story, God uses a powerful statement in Genesis 1:26; “Let US make man…”  Our team believes God uses this powerful statement not only providing proof for a Trinitarian Theology, but to also show us the model God has for creativity in this world. It requires relationship.

If God collaborated with Himself as he created the world, then why do we believe Satan’s lie that we’re supposed to create on our own. Community Groups help us live out this biblical principle and begin to build relationships so that ministry isn’t done in isolation.
